A Picture is Worth More than a Thousand Words

The past few weeks have been challenging for many of my family and friends who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. I thought there is no way I can post my regular project of the week so today I decided to interrupt my regular broadcast to talk about not the project but the subject of the project...hmmm what does that mean?

If you are anything like me your camera stays close by and you snap pictures of everything and everyone trying to capture the fleeting moments of life as it moves on, preserving memories for those who come after you and archiving your story. These pictures are the subjects of many of my projects or scrapbook pages they tell a story, my story.

As I perused through my photos I realized something, I was not capturing my full story. Of course I had pictures of every time my children would blink but what about the group of ladies who giggled and laughed all through church at one small joke, or the co-worker who wore mis-matched shoes and didn't know it or of the lovely ladies who walk past my home every morning and wave and ask how is that cute baby? What I was missing was the life that was happening all around me that is a part of my story. Of course my family will always and forever be my main subject however I can't count out the others who enrich my life daily!

I took a moment this week to appreciate this life story and I encourage you to do the same. Take a picture, capture a moment in time you'll be grateful you did!

To help you with is I found the best FREE app for my iphone! its called pic collage Oh the things you can do! Here is an example below of who else but the baby!! Need to plaster a pic of the neighbor in there somewhere! LOL

Til next time creative family!

Graduation...The Second Time Around

Happy Friday!!!

We are preparing for the big event of the year in our house... high school graduation... so in preparation I did a layout for the scrapbook...not for high school graduation but for Kindergarten graduation.

YES! Kindergarten graduation...The cute graduation cap and gown, the small tassel, so cute.  I remember him practicing for the graduation program and how nervous all the children were, little did I know this was just a rehearsal of what is to come!

Pencil Papers from Archivers
Die Cut letters from Speaking of School Cricut Cartridge
In just a few short months I will be doing a layout for high school...time has flown by so fast andI just can not believe it!

Time to Make the Donuts!

As I prepare one of the many layouts for my Senior in high school I get the chance to take a trip down memory lane! I decided to do a layout of one his pre-school field trips...did I say preschool? AND the more amazing thing is I remember what happened on the field trip! How time flies...and now we are trading trips to the donut shop for AP Physics...wow! This is going to be an emotional and exciting year and I have much to scrap!

I titled this layout "Time to Make the Donuts" and I used the Mickey Font from Cricut.

Love the colors and the Mickey Font

I remember this field trip like it was yesterday! and it was actually 13 years ago!!!!!

One of many layouts to come...its going to an interesting year :)

A Senior in high school and this is a preschool layout...I have work to do! Have a great week!

Boys Boys and Boys

I love my boys! All three of them, yes three of them! Ages range from 3 weeks (today!) to 17 years old. Yes you read that right and its not a typo! :) I do find doing layouts for my boys seems to be a challenge and I need more techniques to make them cute and interesting without making them girly. I am looking for some options so if anyone has some let me know. I think I will try Tim Holtz and there are so many options with his line of products and they tend to lean on the masculine side however you can use them for anything. I am on quest for all things TH, classes , videos, etc...

But for now I am working with various things and getting scrapbooks ready for my senior in high school....ahhh!!! I am taking a trip down memory lane right now as I scrapbook his early years and it is a mix of emotions I am going through. I will post pics soon of some of the pages I have done thus far so be on the lookout!
The vets! 17 and 7

My precious three week old!

They are just wonderful and I wouldn't want to imaging life without them!

I have tons of reasons to keep scrapbooking and these are my top three reasons :)

I will keep searching for new techniques to bring my boys' pages to life so if you have suggestions let me know!

I'm Baaack!!!!

So its been a few months since I have signed on! Big changes have happened in my life over the past several months and I can really say I am happy with them all! I officially have a senior in high school, a second grader and a new bundle of joy that is only 2 weeks. Oh how I miss having a baby in the house! Minus the sleep deprivation which thus far has not been too bad!! On to the crafting news!

I finished it! I finished it! I finished it! I finally finished the scrapbook I made for a dear couple of ours and their sweet baby girl. Since I have all boys! I repeat all boys I don't get to play in the land of girly scraps often so I had a great time creating this scrapbook and will post some pages for your enjoyment.

This is the first page! Which I love, very girly and glittery!

For someone who is not a pink fan I couldn't resist and you can't tell! :)

Love the butterfly embellies!! One of my favs

                                                       Gotta have a princess page!

I had a great time creating this album and this is the first album that I have done for someone else! It was such a joy and I had fun fun fun.

I used several Cricut Cartridges and the paper is from..well everywhere! Thanks to Archivers for offering such a great selection of goodies! and AC Moore. I did special order paper as well. If you would like specifics let me know and I'll provide you the details.

 Now back to my boys!

Updated Scrap Space

So I have been using a nice set up for my scrap space. A card table and chair! I don't have much space but this seemed to work out well.....

This is very simple and fit my needs, enough space so I could get the job done until.....
I went to.....IKEA!!!!!! My space went from this to.....

Much more storage and most of all I can hide the majority of the clutter so you can't see it. I thought this would work so much better being that this is in my living room! My husband thinks so ;) so now that I have my space updated and a baby on the way I wonder how much will actually get done. We'll see...

It's been a looong time!!!

Oh! how I longed for inspiration, energy and focus for the last few months. I've been MIA for sometime, for a good reason some may say...no tragedy, no emergency, no disaster but...are you ready for this....a baby! Yes folks we are six months and counting and you would think being  scrapbooker I would capture every moment! Well I've captured moments but they've been moments of SLEEP! So I have done absolutely no crafting, asked for a gypsy for Christmas and Santa brought me one and its still in the box unopened! It's time to get moving again and start posting some fun projects.  Looking for inspiration so send me some! :) It's good to be back with my creative friends!!
